Pre-conquest origins, C12 nave

Architectural Features

clerestory, early C13 aisles and chancel.

C15 west tower, north aisle rebuilt and north chancel chapel added 1880 by G G Scott.

First floor, south elevation: pointed window with Y-tracery, under hood- mould with carved stops.

Niche with moulded base and crocketed canopy to first floor, under carved panel with angels carrying heraldic shield.

Early C13 south door of 3 orders, with colonnettes and keel mouldings, under hood-mould with dog-tooth and stops: to right, a Paschal lamb, to left, a beast head.

Nave clerestory has C12 round-headed windows throughout.

Font of c1180: goblet-shaped with 4 colonnettes with waterleaf capitals.

C14 chancel arch with pointed double-chamfered head dying into responds

C14 piscina with cusped ogee head to chancel south wall.

Interesting collection of C12 architectural fragments in chancel north chapel.
