SY 88NE 5/398 20.11.59 WOOL BINDON LANE North Side) Remains of Bindon Abbey I Remains of Cistercian Abbey, founded in 1149 at Little Bindon, West Lulworth (q.v.) and moved to the present site in 1172.
The Abbey was erected in the late C12-mid C13.
Dissolved in 1539, and largely demolished - materials being used in the construction of "Bindon Abbey" and work to Lulworth Castle.
