C15, mostly rebuilt and restored in 1871-72 by Ewan Christian West tower, nave with clerestorey, north and south aisle, south porch, chancel and vestry.
C14 tower arch of 4 chamfered orders on a semi-octagonal responds
Font, pulpit and reredos are of elaborately detailed marble with figure scenes on the pulpit and reredos.
St George's font is a square Norman work, with a wooden cover so heavy that it must be lifted with a winch mechanism. The tower arch beyond is almost as old, but it appears that the ground level has risen over time and the proportions are somewhat squat now. The bowl is the stonework, but the polished columns beneath are perhaps nineteenth century. Note also the 'There but not there' silhouette. See [[[7457006]]] for a better view.
