Medieval foundation but completely rebuilt 1861-2 by Lewis Vulliamy.

Architectural Features

The River Avon, in this case, being the Little Avon which has its source [[ST 8195]] to the north-west of Newington Bagpath [[ST 8194]]. The church of St Mary here, perched on the left bank of the Little Avon, was totally rebuilt in 1861 – 2 and only the font, pulpit, altar rails and table plus a piscina survive from the previous building. Mostly C19 fittings with older altar rail and possibly Norman plain font.
