Limestone ashlar, with a plain tile hipped roof with deeply overhanging eaves.
This tower is all that now remains of the Knights Templars Preceptory, founded late in the reign of Henry II by William of Ashby, it passed in 1312, after the suppression of this order, to the Order of the Knights of St John of Jerusalem.
It was finally dissolved in 1538.
