Embattled round tower probably of C13.

Architectural Features

Of the 42 existing seven sacraments fonts (so-called because seven of the eight panels depict one of the Seven Sacraments), the font at All Saints' church is deemed one of the best. This panel depicts the Sacrament of the Last Rites.

The church of All Saints has a round tower; extensively restored in 1856, the most noteworthy feature of this church is its medieval font: one of only 40-odd existing seven sacrament fonts, and one of the best of this type in East Anglia (detail seen here). The peculiar lack of ornamentation of All Saints > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/783553 is ascribed to Lt Col Batt - a triple memorial to three of his sons, all killed in WWII, can be viewed in the chancel > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/783558 - who demanded that all decorations and ornaments in the church be removed; on refusal of the vicar, he took the church to court and won. The church is open every day. For more information see: http://www.norfolkchurches.co.uk/gresham/gresham.htm
