The chancel arch and west doorway (now covered by west tower) remain of the original C12 church.

Architectural Features

C13 west tower and north arcade.

To the west of the tower and adjoining it are the ruins of the C15 west chapel.

Mid C13 west tower of rubblestone with quoins of Barnack stone.

Gargoyles to each corner, except for the north-east.

The corbels of the western arch are carved with stiff leaf foliage.

The east wall of the first stage has the marks of the gabled roof of the C12 nave.

Each side of C15 clerestory has three, two cinquefoil light windows in square heads under segmental headed arches.

South wall: one similar window with low side and shutter and one C15 two cinquefoil light window with quatrefoil spandrel in four centred heal, C15 doorway, Chamfered jambs and four centred head with moulded label.

Interior: C12 chancel arch. semi-circular headed and of two orders on west face.

Soffit of arch has two broad rolls carried on two half round shafts with moulded bases, chamfered and grooved abaci and capitals carved with basket ornament.

The inner capital is carved away for screen.
