The Church of St Peter, Mellinga, is recorded in Domesday Book 1086.

The south doorway is Norman with chevron ornamentation and a medieval oak, studded door with iron hinges.

The north doorway is C14-C15.

The south wall of the nave has a Norman window and one of the C15.

The roof has carved tie beams, one with a crown post.

The interior fittings include a C17 octagonal pulpit and a Norman square font (plastered).
