Architectural Features

The external appearance is that of a C15 Yorkshire Church built of coursed gritstone with a west tower with heavy Perpendicular detailing of 1493-1508, and destroyed nave and aisles with battlements of circa 1430-58.

The nave arcades however are C14, rebuilt after a fire in 1327.

The Bolling Chapel south of the original chancel had its windows altered in 1666.

Furnishings comprise a Maufe baldecohino at the west end and a fine spired, late Gothic font cover.

Other glass by Kempe 1899-l900.

Some fine monuments including work by Scheemaker and Flaxman.
