Norman origins.
Built around 1215-25, the little church of Old Sodbury is a Norman place of worship. The fabric has been extended and rebuilt over the years, but the tower and some parts of the nave are original. As is often the case with churches of that period, they stand on a promontory; below is the vale of Sodbury, taking in much of south Gloucestershire; Welsh mountains including Brecon are visible on a clear day. The large clock was installed in Victoria's reign.
