St Swithin's church > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/757489 as we see it today dates mainly from the 14th century, the chancel was entirely rebuilt in 1869. The church was extensively restored in the 19th century but has retained the original C13 baptismal font which is older than the rest of the building and is evidence that an earlier church stood on this site. Several medieval consecration crosses can be seen on the wall and some medieval glass has been reset in the chancel south window. The wallpainting depicting St Christopher > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1995862 is modern. The stunning east window > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1995840 was designed and made by workers of the Manpower Services Commission who restored the church in the 1980s. The story of Saint Swithin > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1995854 - the saint the church is dedicated to - has been painted by a local artist around the arch of the south aisle east window > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1995850.
