According to the Buildings of England, Staffordshire the bowl and intermediate base are of about 1700. The stem and lower base are mid-19th century. The various parts can be distinguished by the different stone colours.

Fittings: stone font c1700, circular moulded base, cylindrical pedestal and gadrooned bowl in form of an urn

memorial to John and Edward Vernon died 1756 and 1780, shaped marble plaque with moulded cornice, surmounted by an obelisk, containing a coat of arms.
